We Are Family: Tina Andrina, Customer Success Manager

Expert consultant

A Seattle native, Tina Andrina joined the Prime 8 family seven years ago as a Senior Program and Project Manager. As the company has grown, she’s grown with us. Today, she brings her many talents to the new role of Customer Success Manager. Her experience in thinking outside the box, juggling programs and events, managing budgets, and inspiring consumer loyalty make her a great fit for this role. We see her a natural leader, with a special talent for inspiring others with her passion in motivating and growing teams.

Tina is a Christmas baby and also a big fan of the summertime. In her free time, Tina likes to go running and spend time with her family who consists of her husband (who happened to be her high school prom date!) and their two children, ages seven and eight. We chatted with Tina about her role, how she has seen Prime 8 grow over time and how she balances motherhood with her career

Describe a day in the life of a Customer Success Manager.

I call myself a jack of all trades. I am very process and operational based while being very independent. The days look different each week depending on who has a project and what they need for that project. For example, right now I track full time employees and vendor allocations by finding efficiencies and ensuring that the budget is aligned. This role involves a lot of calls, emails and notes. I love that every day is different; it makes my role very exciting.

Walk us through your career path.

I worked with marketing, ad agencies and events for about 10 years. Right before the market was about to crash in 2008, I realized I needed to make a change. I left my position at the time and started to question what was next for me. I thought to myself, “I have never worked in tech.” That is truly where it all started. I got a new job for about six months, then helped my brother with his company and then came back into an events role. Just as they were about to end the events role, a co-worker told me about a role at Prime 8. I joined the team in September of 2013 and haven’t looked back.

Why did you decide to come to work for us?

My project was ending but I was recommended for another one on the same team and the opportunity was available through Prime 8.

How have you seen Prime 8 grow over time?

When I started, there was less than 50 people! There was a strong family feel then and there still is to this day. Our resources now have grown and it’s wonderful to be able to reach out to such a dynamic team. I also love the fact that our VP of People keeps HR running so smoothly!

What has kept you at Prime 8 all this time?

Since the day I started at Prime 8, I have had great customers and clients. I have loved all of my clients and I enjoy working hard for them. I also enjoy the independence that comes with my role while also working closely with the leadership team and consultants. I can truly say that I enjoy going to work every day.

What’s your favorite aspect about working at Prime 8?

I love the family and inclusive feeling.  Everyone really tries to help each other out; I feel comfortable reaching out to others for assistance.

What makes Prime 8 unique and valuable as a consultant that might be considering applying?

I believe that everyone really does try to look out and help each other whenever possible.

What makes Prime 8 unique and valuable to organizations that might be considering hiring a consulting company ?

The people! We have great and amazing people!

What are the three most important skills for your role?

Time management, ability to prioritize and good communication.

What advice do you have for young businesswomen?

If you don’t ask for it, you will never get it! I feel like there are times when fear gets in the way which results in women not gaining the opportunities they need and deserve.

How do you balance your career and motherhood?

Time management, prioritization and organization; I am totally type A. I just need to have a system and process to everything even if that means many star charts! Also, it’s not just me. My husband gets mad kudos for all he does! Oh, and the dog definitely keeps us all entertained.

What is your favorite type of food?

I am going to have to go with a big ol’ fat bone-in ribeye!

Do you have a favorite book and favorite tv show?

I just read Jonathan Livingston Seagull and it’s about pushing beyond the limits. That was a great read. And, Friends is my pick for a tv show. Friends ALWAYS makes me laugh.

What is your favorite season and why?

Summer! Mainly because of the water. Swimming, paddle boarding, you name it! My kids love being on the swim team as well. Summer and water go so well hand in hand.
