Shannon, a Seattle native, has been a part of the Prime 8 family since 2017. She’s enjoys the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest, weather permitting, and visiting sunnier climates regularly to soak up the Vitamin D. She is accustomed to the gloom but she does love the summers in Seattle!

We talked to Shannon about her current role, what motivates her and her experience as a Prime 8 consultant.

Tell us a bit about your role as a Program Manager.

I work on the Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions sales team as a Program Manager. I support global field sellers with resources and connections to corporate in order to shorten sales cycles. There’s a lot of diversity in my role, which I love. I manage and develop content and resources for the field sellers along with field engagement, communications, community calls, training, newsletters and building out sales initiatives and special programs.

Why did you choose to work for Prime 8?

I was a freelance consultant for a quite a few years and I missed feeling like I was part of a team. At most companies I’ve worked at, consultants are treated like a number. At Prime 8, they build an active consultant community, bringing everyone together through community events and that includes involving the consultants. There’s a feeling of family here.

What is your favorite Prime 8 value and why?

We are one team. I work alone supporting IoT but there is a whole team of consultants that I work alongside and there is a sense of community and support. We can lean on one another and work together for our deliverables.

What makes Prime 8 unique and valuable as a consultant that might be considering applying?

The level of engagement from the HQ team is special and a major strength of Prime 8. I was surprised at how people like the office people, the VPs and even the owners knew who I was after only coming into the office one prior time. The level of engagement from the HQ team is special and a unique value that sets Prime 8 apart from others. As a consultant it is easy to feel like a number or an individual contributor with limited access and engagement with those in the office. I was surprised when I was greeted by my name by everyone from the owners to the front desk after going into the office just one prior time. This simple gesture makes you feel like you are part of a company and seen as a valuable employee.

What makes Prime 8 unique and valuable to organizations that might be considering hiring a consulting company?

The breadth of experience within the consultant team is incredibly valuable. All the Prime 8 consultants I work alongside have a ton of experience. Within Prime 8, there are lots of different capabilities in everyone from the leadership team to the consultants. There is a vast number of resources and different types of capabilities available at anytime for me to draw on to deliver excellence to my client.

What keeps you inspired?

I like the opportunity to keep learning and working with people that challenge you while having the opportunity to take on different projects and own those projects end to end.  Fresh and new projects keep me inspired.

What is your favorite part about your job?

The flexibility of being able to work across so many different organizations at my client is my personal favorite. As a consultant, there is an opportunity to learn different sides of the business.

What has been the highlight of this past year for you?

I feel very fortunate that I was able to keep working as a consultant and pivot with my client, adjusting to their needs during 2020.

What’s your favorite way to spend the weekend?

I enjoy hanging out with my niece and nephew and enjoy time in Woodinville visiting the wineries with friends. I also always enjoy a relaxing weekend in, spending time with friends and family.

Do you have a recent favorite tv show?
