Walk us through a day in the life Senior Content Editor and Program Manager.

I am a curriculum manager on our retail account and I work closely with the Director of Learning and Development, to oversee operations across digital learning by onboarding consultants, assisting managers, providing templates, scheduling & resourcing.

How did you start your career in consulting?

Prior to prime 8, I was involved in education as well as arts and design. I was an AmeriCorps volunteer in the subjects of dance and photography while also working at a museum. I also studied graduate student at University of Washington studying religion and taught as a teaching assistant in international studies and religion. Coming from a background in education, Prime 8 was the starting point of my career in consulting.

Why did you join Prime 8?

I knew a few people who had worked at Prime 8 and I had heard wonderful things about the company. A few items that drew me to company included the programs Nicolette runs for women in leadership, the overall company culture and the flexibility of being a consultant.

How would you describe your working style?

Remote has always worked well for me. I enjoy working independent while also being in close contact with my team daily when needed. Oh, and I love a good spreadsheet!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Trust your instincts but back it up with research.

What makes Prime 8 unique and valuable as a consultant that might be considering applying?

Prime 8 has a position in our field where we are very well respected. In my experience, Prime 8 has lived up to the accolades and awards it has received over time such as “Best Companies to Work For”. Prime 8 has a great company culture for our client base.

What makes Prime 8 unique and valuable to organizations that might be considering hiring a consulting company?

We provide a level of excellence that is above and beyond everything else that I have seen out there. We see our work being mimicked across multiple teams within our client companies; that’s a testament to the level of quality that we provide.

What do you consider a highlight of your career in consulting?

Honestly, even though 2020 has been a strange year, the service and stability that we provided and maintained to our client this year, even throughout all of the upheaval and churn, has been a highlight.

How do you like to spend your weekends?

I love to spend my weekends with my husband and our two year old. We love getting outdoors whether that going for a bike ride or a walk. I also love to cook. I am all about the simple and relaxing time with my family.

What is your favorite part about living in Iowa?

I am so impressed with the town we live in and the incredible services for our community. It is a low key but community oriented. The high quality of life here really is lovely.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

I would say hiking or gardening would be two of my top favorites.
